Two held for betting on IPL matches Hyderabad, May 8 (INN): Task Force sleuths on a tip off conducted raid and apprehended two persons, who were accepting cricket betting's over the ongoing DLF-IPL 2011 Premiere League matches played between different teams and seized cash of Rs 45,000 and other incriminating materials from their possession.
According to Inspector Ch Y Srinivas Kumar, the accused persons were identified as Montu Bandari (29) and Sharat Sony (25). On learning that they can fetch good amounts in cricket betting they both started accepting cricket betting's illegally from the punters.
The accused persons rented a flat and started accepting cricket betting's from the punters in the on-going DLF-IPL 2011 Premier League Cricket matches played different teams in India at various places illegally. Earlier they also earned money from ICC World Cup 2011 cricket matches.
Task Force team raided the flat and apprehended the accused persons and also seized cash of Rs 45,000, 14 inch colour Television, two cell phones and other incriminating materials from their possession which are used in the commission of offence. The accused along with seized property are being handed over to Station House Officer Musheerabad Police Station for further investigation.
