One killed as overtaking van rams into bike
Medak, May 13 (INN): One person was killed on the spot while one other sustained injuries, when a speeding van rammed into their motorcycle on the Gajwel-Toopran Highway at Nacharam outskirts in Wargal mandal on Friday.
According to Toopran Sub-Inspector Jagadish, Mukya Pandu (25), died on the spot while Mukya Babu (20) sustained critical injuries in the mishap. It is believed that victims were residents of Thimmapur Thanda, Bommalaramaram mandal in Nalgonda district.
The mishap occurred when a speeding van, in order to overtake an auto-rickshaw in front, veered off the track and dashed against the oncoming motorcycle. Pandu was driving the motorcycle.
According to information coming in, the victims were returning home along with their brothers Deva and Shanker who were on other vehicle after attending marriage function of their relative at Isthanpur Thanda in Toopran.
Police reached the spot on getting information and shifted the Babu to a hospital in Gajwel for treatment with the help of an 108 ambulance. Pandu's body was shifted to a government hospital for autopsy. Toopran Inspector Ravindar Reddy has inspected the spot after receiving the information. A case has been registered and further investigations are going on.
