Pilgrim dies in road mishap Medak, May 13 (INN): A 24-year-old woman pilgrim was killed on the spot while three of her co-passengers sustained serious injuries when their car rammed into a roadside electricity pole at Jakkapur village, Chinnakodur mandal in Medak district on Friday.
According to Sub-Inspector Anjaneyulu, the victims have been identified as Gudipudi Yamini, her father Durga Prasad Rao, brother Srinivas Rao and another woman Vijayalakshmi. Yamini died on the spot.
Mr Anjaneyulu further revealed that the mishap occurred when the speeding car, driven by Srinivas Rao, went out of control and hit the electricity pole. They were returning home after visiting the Raja Rajeshwari temple in Vemulavada.
Police reached the spot on getting information and later shifted the victims to a hospital for treatment and autopsy. A case has been registered and further investigations are going on.
