Gang of pickpockets busted, four held

Hyderabad, May 14 (INN): Task Force sleuths on Saturday apprehended a gang of four persons who are committing pocket pickings on the instigation of a gangster and seized 301 cell phones from their possession.

According to police, the four are followers of notorious gangster Mohammed Khaisar who is presently in jail. They have been identified as Syed Shakeel (25), Mohammed Shakeel (23), Syed Amjad (28) and Syed Mukarram Hussain (34).

Mohammed Khaisar is a notorious rowdy sheeter, who is involved in more than 25 criminal cases under various police stations. Recently he was arrested by Nampally police in connection with the murder of Fazaluddin, and co-brother of Ayub Khan who is a rowdy sheeter of Kalapattar.

Syed Shakeel is videographer by profession and was a close associate of the rowdy sheeter and notorious gangster Khaisar. Mohammed Shakeel an auto driver by profession and was arrested by Market, Nallakunta, Afzalgunj, Shalibanda and Afzalgunj police in theft cases.

Syed Amjad an auto driver by profession and was involved in attempt to murder and two bodily offences and was arrested by Rajendra Nagar Police. Syed Mukarram Hussain a labourer and was arrested by Tappachabutra, Kulsumpura, Gachibowli, Patancheruvu police in robbery, attempt to murder and theft cases.

Khaisar, through his gang members, has committed several thefts and also involved in the business of selling Ganja and a lead a luxurious life through the share received through gang members.

After real boom in Hyderabad City he was involved in several land disputes, being arrested several times. Presently he is lodged in jail in the murder case of Fazaluddin a rowdy sheeter of Panjagutta and a close relative of gangster Ayub Khan.

Syed Shakeel is such a gang member who is in touch with him regularly and looking after the matters of Khaisar. With the moral support of Khaisar, Syed Shakeel formed a gang with Mohammed Shakeel, Amjad and Mukarram and committing theft of cell phones.

This gang commits theft of cell phones from the passengers who travel in autos by engaging auto for committing offence. Of the three, Amjad poses like the driver of the auto while the remaining two gang members travel in the auto as passengers.

They target single passengers and once the passenger gets into the auto, Mukarram diverts the attention of the passenger while Shakeel picks up the cell phone and other valuables from the pocket of the passenger. After the commission of theft Shakeel hands over the stolen property to Mukarram, who gets down from the auto and reaches his destination.

This gang operates twice or thrice in a week in the routes of Secunderabad Railway Station to Uppal, Uppal to Dilskunagar, Dilsukhnagar to Nampally, Secunderabad Railway station to Begumpet fly over, Koti to S R Nagar, Koti to Mehdipatnam.

The three gang members share the amount they receive. Kanda Shakeel in turn sells the stolen cell phones to a person sent by Khaisar with a margin. The accused persons and the seized property are being handed over to Market Police Station for taking further necessary action.
