Tirumalagiri RTA AO in ACB net Hyderabad, May 16 (INN): Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths on Monday caught red-handed Road Transport Authority Administrative Officer for demanding and accepting Rs 5,000 as bribe from a person for doing an official favour.
According to ACB officials, the accused officer R Hariprasada Rao (42), was caught red handed when he demanded and accepted Rs 5,000 as bribe through another accused person Adula Raju (30) from a person. The official favour was to collect the vehicle tax for release his vehicle, which was seized by RTA, Tirumalagiri of the complainant.
The tainted amount was recovered from the pocket of accused Adula Raju at his instance. Both hand fingers of Adula Raju and the inner lining of his pant pocket which came into contact with the tainted currency yielded positive results when subjected to chemical test. Both the accused persons are being arrested and will be produced before the Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad.
