Woman slits daughters' throats, attempt suicide
Hyderabad, May 17 (INN): In a chilling incident, a woman slit the throats of her tow infant daughters before turning the blade on her own neck, leaving a nine-month-old baby dead at Papireddynagar, Jagadgirigutta in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
According to Jeedimetla Inspector Sanjeeva Rao, Kalavathi, wife of Krishna Reddy, slit the throats of her daughters Maheshwari (3) and Devi Priya (9 months). She then attempted suicide by slitting her own throat.
However, neighbours noticed the chilling scene of blood oozing from her throat and rushed the three to hospital. The doctors pronounced Devi Priya brought dead.
Maheshwari and Kalavati are said to be in a critical condition, the Inspector said. 'We are trying to ascertain the motive behind the macabre act,' Mr Sanjeeva Rao said. Further investigations are on, he added.
