JKC inks pact with Autodesk for software training Hyderabad, May 20 (INN): The AP Society for Knowledge Networks - Jawahar Knowledge Centre on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Autodesk, a world leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software today at UGC Academic Staff College, JNTU, Kukatpally, Hyderabad, according to IT Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah.
The MoU was signed by Amarnath Reddy Atmakuri, Chief Executive Officer, AP Society for Knowledge Networks - Jawahar Knowledge Centre and Vincent Chong, Head, Training and Certification, Autodesk Asia Pacific in the presence of Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Minister for IT and Communications. Ajay Mishra, Principal Secretary IT & Communications, was also present.
The MoU will facilitate providing Autodesk software training and certification programme. It will also facilitate in developing the design software skills of engineering students and faculty members.
Training will be imparted by Autodesk-certified instructors from A.P Society for Knowledge Networks. The MoU will also facilitate the JKC students to utilize Autodesk software which is made available free-of-cost. JKC students and faculty members can download the software and IEG ' JKC will offer free training on the software.
The Minister appreciating the Autodesk training said that the government was keen on bridging the gap between educational institutions and industry. He added that Rajasthan, Gujarat, Orissa, Bihar, were looking forward to replicating the JKC programme in their states. The state produced around 30 percent of engineering students in India, Mr Lakshmaiah.
By 2015 we envisage Rs 70,000 crore IT Exports revenue from its present Rs 36,000 crore. The Minister appealed to the college authorities to utilize the facilities provided and to contribute in building 2 Tier and 3 Tier IT / ITeS locations across the state. Ajay Mishra, Principal Secretary, IT and C, said that the MoU was an important milestone in building industry grade skills.
Mr Amarnath Reddy Atmakuri said the JKC students were fortunate to get software training and certification programmes from Autodesk. Vincent Chong, head, Training and Certification, Autodesk Asia Pacific announced the appointment of AP Society for Knowledge Networks (Institute for Electronic Governance) as its authorized training center partner in the state.
Andhra Pradesh was the first state where Autodesk entered into an engagement to take the training to JKC colleges.
