2 kg gold jewellery snatched Hyderabad, May 20 (INN): Thieves snatched away 2 kg gold jewellery from the clerk of a jewellery store in broad daylight near General Post Office at Abids on Friday afternoon.
The theft occurred when the clerk was taking gold jewellery on his two-wheeler to another shop. The thieves accosted the clerk at the GPO and snatched away the bag containing the gold jewelry. The value of the stolen property was yet to be ascertained.
Commissioner of police A K Khan visited the spot to collect first-hand information. The owner of the jewellery shop, Kailash Jewellers, has lodged a complaint in this regard with Abids Police station. However, the shop owner said that he does not suspect the involvement of the clerk. The police have formed a team to nab the thieves.
