Jurala EE held with Rs 1 crore assets HYDERABAD: An executive engineer of Indira Priyadarshini Jurala project was caught on Saturday for possessing disproportionate assets worth Rs 1 crore.
Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths conducted searches on the residence of G Manikya Rao, the executive engineer of Jurala Project, Gadwal circle, in Mahabubnagar district and recovered the assets. Simultaneous searches were conducted on his relatives houses at Guntur, Mahabubnagar and in the city, an official release said.
Manikya Rao was found in possession of three apartments, two in Hyderabad and one in Guntur, six buildings in Guntur, one plot each at Hyderabad and Guntur, 9.82 acre agricultural land at Guntur, gold weighing 174 grams, two cars and household articles worth Rs 3 lakh.
'Though the documentary value of the assets would be around Rs 1 crore, the market value of the assets would be nearly Rs three crore,' officials said. The bank balances of the officer are yet to be verified. Manikya Rao would be produced before a court for ACB cases in Vijayawada.
