Teacher held for rape of student HYDERABAD: Cyberabad police on Friday arrested a government school teacher for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl at his house in Mailardevpally.
The accused, Bhoopal Reddy (39), is working as a Telugu pandit at Mailardevpally government school. According to police, Bhoopal Reddy earlier worked at a school in Nednur of Kandukur mandal.
The girl was a student at the Nednuru school. She completed her intermediate and was preparing for DIET CET examinations.
'She had doubts in subjects and contacted Reddy, who asked her to come to his house. On May 23, when the girl went to his house, he raped her,' said Shivarampally police inspector Uma Maheshwar Rao said.
However, Reddy convinced her that he would marry her and asked her not to bring the incident to light. As he has been avoiding her, the girl lodged a complaint with the police three days ago. Police arrested Bhoopal Reddy on Friday and registered a case against him.
