KK and Yashki attends TDF interactive meet
New York: Telangana Development Forum, USA (TDF) New York/New Jersey Chapter held an interactive meeting with Congress MPs, Mr. Keshav Rao and Mr. Madhu Yashki on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Paradise Restaurant in Parlin, NJ. The audiences were very eager what Congress MPs will do to achieve Telangana state especially after the death of Prof. Jayashankar.
The meeting started with two minute silence in memory of Prof. Jayashankar. Mr. Keshav Rao explained the current situation and said the high command position has moved from no Telangana to any decision with their efforts. He said we needed more pressure from Telangana people to convince the Core committee to act.
Seemandhras are using their majority and the economic power to stop the state bifurcation. Madhu Yashki echoed the same and said we refused to meet the Andhra MPs at A.P. in-charge Mr. Azad's residence not to give a mixed signal to Telangnites. When Mr. Keshav Rao was asked as a Core committee member why he failed to convince the other Committee members? His answer was vague and said he is no longer a committee member. Both MPs told there is a movement among Seemandhra MPs, six of them openly saying they favor Telangana state formation, and another five MPs said they will go either way.
Both MPs said they are working on both sides to build pressure from Telangana masses and also convince other Seemandhra MPs to change their position to make it easy for Core committee to decide. All attendees were in favor of resignation by Telangana MPs, for which Madhu Yashki said after July 5th Hunger strike, if necessary they will do it.
Keshav Rao said the resignations may not change the situation and it may not bring Telangana. At the end there was more heated arguments and attendees demanded Telagana politicians has to do whatever is necessary to achieve the Telangana state. The opportunity gave the Telangan NRIs
to interact with both MPs, and let them know how strong their sentiment is and no one should rest until Telangana state is become a reality.
TDF President, Murali Chinthalpani and TDF trustees Sudhakar Perkari , Jamuna Puskur and thanked all the attendees and said let us hope we will see some action after July 5th Hunger strike by T-Congress leaders.
