Man held for conning finance companies Hyderabad, July 3 (INN): Task Force (North Zone) on Sunday arrested a conman who cheated finance companies by buying electronic goods on fabricated papers. The police also seized eight LCD TVs, three fake Electoral ID cards, one Ration card, fabricated telephone bills and other incriminating material from his possession.
According to police, Shaik Siraj (29) cheated the finance companies by obtaining LCD TVs under hire purchase scheme by preparing and submitting fake and forged documents of different government departments as address proof and identity proofs.
Giving details, the police said that Shaik Siraj was born in Vijayawada and brought up in Hyderabad. He discontinued his education after failing seventh class. The police said that Siraj resorted to cheating after facing financial problems due to loss in his business.
In order to overcome his financial problems he hatched a plan to dupe the finance companies with fake and forged documents for obtaining LCD TVs under hire purchase scheme by observing the loop holes of finance system.
Taking advantage of loop holes the accused started preparing fake ID proofs like Voter Identity Card, PAN cards, telephone bills etc, by scanning the original documents and then editing the original documents by replacing the original name with fake names.
He also obtained Electoral ID cards, Ration Card, Rajiv Gruhakalpa ID card, driving license and telephone bills on different names and addresses.
By submitting the fake and fabricated documents he obtained eight LCD TVs from various electronic showrooms. In those eight LCDs, seven were took from Bajaj Finance and one from Future Money finance companies. He sold the same to the known persons and earned money illegally.
On a tip off, North Zone Task Force Team laid a trap near Madannapet and nabbed him. The accused along with the seized property were handed over to PS Madannapet for further investigation.
