Lovers jump before speeding train, die
HYDERABAD: A couple committed suicide by jumping before a speeding train at Tellapur in Ranga Reddy district on Saturday night. The reason behind the extreme step is yet to be ascertained, railway police said.
The deceased, Swathi and Ganesh, were both natives of Khammam district. Ganesh was an employee at Vijai Electricals. According to Railway police, the couple were in love for the last three years. On Friday night, Swathi left her house at Bhoopalpally without informing her parents to meet Ganesh in Hyderabad.
The couple met on Saturday morning and spent time till evening. Around 8 p.m., the duo reached Lingampally railway station and ended their lives by jumping before a goods train, police said.
They did not leave behind any suicide note but had left their respective addresses. Police contacted their families using their mobile phones and informed them of the incident. On Sunday morning, the family members of the deceased collected the bodies of Swathi and Ganesh.
"Family members of both the boy and the girl said they never knew about the affair and confirmed that they would not have objected to their marriage marriage,'' police added.
