Huge amount of explosives seized in City Hyderabad, July 19 (INN): The Commissioner's Task Force, South Zone on Tuesday arrested two persons for indulging in illegal sale and transport of explosive material and seized a huge quantity of explosives from their possession.
The police identified the accused as D Srinivas, a resident of Vanasthalipuram and V Yadaiah, resident of I S Sadan in the city. The police seized 1600 gelatine sticks weighing 200 kgs, 32 bundles consisting of 1,500 electric detonators, two cars and one cell phone from them.
In the wake of recent serial blasts in Mumbai, the Hyderabad City Police stepped up vigil over the illegal sale of explosives. Based on credible information the Task Force team conducted raids and seized the explosives.
During the interrogation both D Srinivas and V Yadaiah admitted their crime.
The accused were handed over to Kanchanbagh Police station for further investigation.
