Hyerabad's first Harley Davidson Woman Hyderabad: Guess who just tamed a Harley Davidson in the city? An architect by profession and a biker by hobby, Kasturi Deodhar became the first woman in Andhra Pradesh and the second woman in India to own a Harley Davidson Sportster.
'My husband gifted me the bike as my birthday gift, and I am so happy and lucky to be its proud owner,' says Kasturi Deodhar, who owns a Harley Davidson Sportster model XL 883 R IRON, with an ex-showroom price of about Rs 6.16 lakhs.
'I have always been adventurous as a person and this bike just made the whole experience even more exciting and special. I always wanted to own one of these bikes,' she adds saying, her love for bikes started wen she was 16 and she has been riding for almost 13 years now. 'My husband has always supported me. My husband and I even went biking together, and it was so much fun,' she adds.
When asked about women bikers she says, 'It is very nice to see so many woman so passionate about biking. They should be treated and supported equally. I am indeed very happy to see them being a part of the many biking clubs and participating in a lot of events.'
Talking on being the first woman to own a Harley Davidson, Deodhar replies, 'It just feels awesome and I am very happy to have one of these. It is also shocking to know that none of the woman bikers in the city actually own a Harley Davidson.' Prior to Kasturi Deodhar, Sheeja Mathew, a Bangalore-based HR executive, became the first Indian woman to own a Harley Davidson bike.
