Telugu people of Chicago felicitates Kishan Reddy
Chicago: Andhra Pradesh BJP president and MLA G Kishan Reddy has been felicitated in Chicago on the 24th of July 2011, at a grand ceremony attended by the large groups of Telugu communities across chicagoland area. Event organizers Srinivas Voruganti, Thirumal Nellutla and Srinivas Goud took turns to introduce Kishan Reddy to the audience.
Later, Kishan Reddy addressing the gathering spoke about issues of fighting corruption, threat of terror, and stressed BJP's strong commitment in fighting these challenges faced by the nation. He highlighted how the state of Gujarat is leading by example and how every state can follow the model with utmost integrity to pave the way for India leading the world as a super power.
He has also talked at length about the BJP's continued stand and staunch support for the creation of Telangana state and rationale for their party's policy in support of smaller states aimed at delivering good governance. He mentioned the pride for larger Telugu community spread across two states can be more focussed towards a healthy competition leading to mutual progress. He urged the central government to declare the state of Telangana and put an end to the current crisis in Andhra Pradesh.
As the program continued, Mr. Sriram Vedire an NRI from BJP has shared his findings and recommendations for creating a strategic plan for better water resources management system in India. Another prominent NRI leader from the community, Sri Vemuri Subramanyam, stressed on the need for the unity of all Indian communities and recalled the pride of a Telugu architect's contribution in the design of our Indian National Flag.
Later, an eminent BJP leader from Delhi, Vijay Jolly, known for his motivational speeches attracted the crowd with his remarks about the need for preserving the Indian cultural values and the role of youth in re-building India's leadership.
The event organizers Srinivas Voruganti, Thirumal Nellutla, Srinivas Goud thanked various community leaders from the attendees, some of whom have also come from other states. The event continued with a felicitation ceremony with the presentation of a shawl and a memento to Kishan Reddy, in appreciation of his leadership role in Indian society.
