Students to intensify T stir from Monday Hyderabad, Aug 21 (INN): Extending moral support to people's general strike, Telangana Rashtra Samiti Students wing on Sunday called upon students to organize a series of agitations across the Telangana region.
The students wing leaders in a meeting of district in-charges held at TRS Bhavan have decided to intensify the agitation from August 22 to August 29. The students would mount pressure on the elected representatives to submit their resignations for the cause of Telangana statehood.
On August 23, the students would take processions of effigies of elected members who failed to submit resignations. The students would write letters to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh appealing him to direct the state government to lift all police cases pending against students in the region on August 25.
On August 27, the students would stage dharnas in front of District collectorates and Revenue divisional Offices and submit a memorandum seeking action on police highhandedness. The students would sit in for Deeksha on August 30 seeking all sections of people support for general strike.
