Traffic ban around Charminar to ease Eid shopping Hyderabad, Aug 25 (INN): With less than four days left for the Eid-ul-Fitr, many areas in the Old City have turned into shopping zones. The stretch from Madina circle to Charminar has already turned into a pedestrian zone with absolutely no space left for the any vehicle.
In order to decongest the shopping areas further, the Hyderabad City Police have imposed certain traffic restrictions. According to City Police Commissioner AK Khan, the main road between Madina and Charminar would be closed for all types of vehicular traffic upto 1st September.
Further, the traffic police have also imposed certain restrictions and diversion on certain routes. Traffic coming from Nayapul may proceed towards Salarjung Museum, Darulshifa Rotary and further.
Similarly, traffic from MG Bus Station will be diverted at Madina Circle towards City College. Traffic from Shah Ali Banda, Nagulchinta towards Charminar will be diverted towards Khilwath at Himmatpura X Roads.
Traffic from Chowmohallah and Haribowli will not be allowed towards Charminar. Traffic coming from Kotla Alijah towards Charminar will be diverted towards Bibi Bazar at Chowk Maidan Khan from where they can go towards Hafeez Danka Mosque to proceed further.
The vehicular traffic coming from Petlaburj and Moosa Bowli side towards Charminar will be diverted at Motigalli towards Khilwath. Traffic coming from Eitbar Chowk will not be allowed towards Kali Kamaan and will be diverted at Eitbar Chowk to proceed towards Mandi Mir Alam Market or Bibi Bazar.
Traffic coming from Mitti Ka Sher will not be allowed towards Gulzar House and will be diverted at Mitti Ka Sher towards Ghansi Bazar and the traffic will be diverted at Iranigalli towards Eitbar Chowk and Mandi Mir Alam Market.
According to police commissioner, the restrictions would also apply to both RTC and city buses. All road users have been requested to co-operate with the traffic police in regulation of the traffic.
