Zoo Park gets a pair of horned Rhinos Hyderabad, Sept 04 (INN): The Nehru Zoological Park on Sunday got new attractions. A pair of Horned Rhinoceros was released into the park. The Rhinoceros were brought from Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park in Patna on August 24 on exchange basis.
The Nehru Zoological Park gave a pair of Asiatic Lion, a White Tiger and a Royal Bengal Tiger. In exchange they got a pair of Horned Rhinoceros. The male Rhinoceros, named Suraj, is about six year old. His weight is 3015 kilograms. The female Rhinoceros, Saraswati, is four-and-a-half year old.
The pair was released into the Nehru Zoological Park in a function attended by Forest Minister Shatrucharla Vijayaramaraju, Prl. Chief Conservator of Forests Madhukar Raj and Park's Curator M.A. Waheed among others.
