Minor girl rescued after marriage with Sharjah national Hyderabad, Sept 06 (INN): The City Police has rescued a minor girl from getting married on contract to a Sharjah national. According to police, on Sunday evening on getting credible information that a child marriage was taking place at Moin Bagh in Riyasathnagar, a team of Santoshnagar police station reached the location and found bride Sana Sultana, bridegroom Hilal Saeed Mohammed Al Hilal, a Sharjah nationalist, aged 47 years, Qazi Mohd Waheedudin, and parents of the bride Awan bin Salam Barawas and Parveen Sultana and others.
By the time police reached the spot, the marriage was already solemnized by the Qazi. Since the physical appearance of the bride Sana Sultana looks like a minor, she was taken into safe custody and subjected her for age determination test at Osmania General Hospital, where Dr. Abhijeet Subedar after conducting Age Determination Test, issued certificate in which opined that the girl is aged 16 years.
Since the victim bride girl was a minor, Santoshnagar police caused further enquires and found that the victim girl was forcibly married to the old aged Sharjah nationalist and her signatures and thumb impressions were obtained under duress and coercion.
Further enquiries revealed that the parents of the bride have enrolled in the Aadhar card by giving false information of date of birth of the bride as 12-03-1989, aged 22 years, a major, with a fraudulent intention to perform her marriage with any Arab Nationalist, police said.
The Qazi without verification and authenticity of the age of the bride, has fraudulently performed the marriage of child minor girl and obtained her signatures on the marriage forms, blank forms, non-judicial stamp papers, ledger papers with fraudulent intention to use the same if the marriage is broken.
The parents of the bride, knowingly well that the girl bride Sana Sultana is minor, have induced her to marry Hilal Sayeed Mohammed Al Hilal, compelling her to go with him after marriage to UAE, and got performed her marriage.
After completing the investigation, the Santoshnagar police booked cases against the bridegroom and girl's parents under the Prohibition of the Child Marriage Act and other relevant sections. The trio have been arrested and the passport of Sharjah nationalist has been seized.
