Home minister reviews security for Nimajjanm Hyderabad, Sept 09 (INN): Home Minister P Sabitha Reddy on Friday held a meeting with the Police Commissioners of Hyderabad and Cyberabad at the State Secretariat to review the security arrangements for the final Ganesh immersion procession on September 11.
Sabitha Reddy directed the top brass to take all steps to prevent any untoward situation. She asked the security personnel to be extra vigilant in view of the recent bomb blast at Delhi High Court. She also sought the cooperation from the general public in maintaining law and order.
Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi president Balwanth Rao and Kurnool VHP president Ramaraju also met the Home Minister seeking her intervention in restoration of peace in Kurnool, where the Ganesh procession was marred by communal violence.
Warangal MP M Rajaiah also met the minister and appealed for a judicial probe into the ongoing agitation by the Telangana students in the Kakatiya University campus. He alleged that students were brutally beaten up by the policemen in the campus.
