Housewife murdered for gold jewellery
Hyderabad, Sept 12 (INN): A 40-year-old woman was strangulated to death by some unknown persons who came to her house on the pretext of taking her house on rent.
The incident happened in the limits of Neredmet police station on Monday. According to police, the woman, Surekha, was alone in her house at Rambrahma Nagar when the incident happened. Two unidentified persons knocked the house watching a 'Tolet' board hanged outside the house. By pretending as prospective tenants they entered the house.
Finding that she was alone in the house, the duo strangled her death and escape after snatching about 6.5 tolas of jewellery that she was wearing. The crime was noticed when her husband Suresh, an electrician, returned house. On receiving information, police reached the spot and started investigations. Police suspect that it was a murder for gain.
