Parents secretly cremate girl after suicide
Hyderabad, Sept 18 (INN): The Nacharam police on Friday began investigation into an incident wherein the parents secretly cremated the body of an 18-year-old girl who allegedly committed suicide.
According to police, the girl - Sunita, a 10th class student of Mallapur Government School, was scolded by her parents - Narsimha and Renuka on Thursday night. Felt insulted, she committed suicide by hanging in the bathroom at her residence in Mallapur.
However, the parents did not inform the neighbours or relatives about her death. They secretly performed her last rite in a nearby crematorium. On learning about the incident, the neighbours gathered at their house and reportedly thrashed the parents. The neighbours also alerted the police suspecting that the girl might have been murdered by the parents.
The Nacharam police has registered a case and started investigations. The girls' parents have reportedly been taken into custody for questioning.
