Auto bandh postponed to Sept 24 Hyderabad, Sept 18 (INN): The proposed 48-hour long auto-rickshaw bandh from Sunday midnight has been deferred to September 24 (Friday). Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan here on Sunday, TRS Labour wing president L Roop Singh said that the bandh was postponed in view of RTC employees participating in the general strike from Monday onwards.
He said that since examinations are going on in several schools and colleges, the student community would face lot of hardship of both the RTC buses and auto-rickshaws goes off the road. Therefore, the 48-hour bandh will now start from September 24 midnight.
Roop Singh said that thousands of auto-rickshaw drivers would participate in rallies and dharnas on September 24 demanding statehood for Telangana. An auto-rickshaw rally will be organised on September 25 which will culminate into a public meeting.
