Auto driver killed, many injured in road accident
Hyderabad, Sept 21 (INN): An auto-rickshaw driver was killed and several others injured when they were hit by a RTC bus after the driver lost control due to the failure of breaks.
The mishap occurred on Wednesday morning at Krishna Nagar near Yousufguda crossroads. According to police, the bus driver lost control due to break failure and hit the auto-rickshaw and other vehicles parked on the roadside.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Mallesh. The police have shifted all injured to Osmania General Hospital and their condition is stated to be out of danger. The mishap took place when the RTC bus was heading towards Kondapur from Secunderabad. Irked over the incident, the local people stoned the bus. The bus driver went absconding after the accident from the scene.
According to sources, the bus driver was hired on temporary basis due to the RTC employees participating in the general strike. The accident is believed to have occurred due to poor maintenance of bus and lack of understanding of driver of city traffic. Yousufguda police have registered a case.
