Triple murder mystery solved, one held Hyderabad, Oct 04 (INN): The Rajendera Nagar police on Tuesday solved the mytery behind the murder of a woman Geetha and her 13-year-old son Chandu. However, it turned out to be a triple murder as Geetha's husband Yadaiah was also found murdered on Monday.
According to police, Yadaiah's body was found in a water tank behind the Rajendernagar MRO office on Monday. His body bore marks of injuries inflicted with sharp edged weapons. A heavy stone was tied to the body before it was thrown into the tank.
Earlier on October 1, 35-year-old Geetha and her 13-year-old son Chandu were found murdered at their house in Manikyamma Nagar Colony.
After being informed about the local residents foul smell was emanating from a house which was locked from outside, the police broke open the lock and found their dead bodies.
Both were brutally murdered as their throats were found slit with a sharp edged weapon. The woman also had a head injury. Geetha's husband Yadaiah was reported missing that day. However, Yadaiah too was found murdered on Monday.
Working on very little clues available, the Rajendra Nagar police solved the mystery and took the main accused 25-year-old Praveen into custody.
According to police, Praveen was a neighbour of Yadaiah and developed some enmity over petty quarrels.
On September 27 night, he along with his friends Naresh and Fayyaz, came to Yadaiah's house and on the pretext of discussing some matter took him to an isolted place.
Yadaiah was then brutally murdered and later his body was thrown into the water tank.
Later, they went to Yadaiah's house and killed Geetha and her son Chandu. Yadaiah's two daughters who went to their grandmother's house were saved.
Police say that the main accused Praveen was a previous offender. The other accused Naresh and Fayyaz are said to be absconding.
