NATA to promote Telugu language through Manabadi

New Jersey: NATA President AVN Reddy announced that NATA would be promoting the Telugu language program MANABADI that was designed by Silicon Andhra in association with the Telugu University, Hyderabad. SiliconAndhra's mission is to spread Telugudanam across the world. Manabadi is a Telugu language literacy program for NRI kids to learn Telugu.

SiliconAndhra started ManaBadi Telugu classes in April 2007 and is encouraging young children to learn our Mother Tongue, Telugu. At present, over 1000 students across 15 states in USA are learning Telugu with great interest.

North American Telugu Association (NATA), as part of its mission, is involved in promoting community services, cultural and social activities, student assistance, preservation and promotion of Telugu language, literature and heritage in the United States as well as across the globe. NATA, on September 17th 2011, officially declared its support for SiliconAndhra Manabadi program and is helping to promote it through its nationwide network in all regions of USA.

Mr. Sankar Tumuluru from SiliconAndhra has expressed his gratitude to the NATA Central Board, President Sri AVN Reddy, Mahender Musuku BOD and Sarath Veta Regional Coordinator for taking the initiations and helping to promote Manabadi.

The salient features of the ManaBadi program are:
' Focuses on all aspects - reading, writing and speaking.
' Definite course outline and material for each level with formal tests to assess students' performance.
' Books and materials are prepared with support and guidance from highly reputed Telugu linguists and professors from Central Institute of Indian Languages (Mysore) and Sri Potti SriRamulu Telugu University (Hyderabad).
' Sri Potti SriRamulu Telugu University recognizes the ManaBadi program and awards certificates to students every year.
' ManaBadi Levels :
1. BalaBadi (4 to 6 years, new students)
2. Pravesam (6+ years, new students)
3. Prakasam (returning students)
4. Pramodam (returning students)
5. Prabhasam (returning students)

Though this academic year is already started, there are a couple of new Manabadi centers in New Jersey that are registering students till this weekend. There is one at Shirdi Sai Temple in Edison and the other one is at the West Windsor (Princeton) Public Library apart from existing center at Sri Guruvaayoorppan Temple in Morganville.
