RBI to issue 10 rupee notes with new symbol Hyderabad, Oct 10 (INN): The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will shortly issue Rs 10 denomination Bank notes without inset letter, in the Mahatma Gandhi Series with the signature of Dr.D.V.Subba Rao, Governor, Reserve Bank of India, with the year of printing 2011 printed on the back of the Bank note, with incorporation of new rupee symbol.
According to RBI Hyderabad AGM, The design of these notes to be issued now is similar in all respects to the Bank notes in Mahatma Gandhi Series 2005 issued earlier except for the symbol. All Bank notes in the denomination of Rs 10 issued by the RBI in the past will continue to be legal tender.
