Inter-state dacoits' gang held Hyderabad, Oct 10 (INN): The West Zone team of Commissioner's Task Force on Monday apprehended five members of Delhi-based inter-state gang of dacoits who were preparing to commit dacoity in Panjagutta and Banjara Hills area.
The police recovered one Tapancha with two live rounds, three daggers and three cell phones from their possession. The accused have been identified as Asgar Ali, Avtar Singh Rana, Sushanth Kumar, Mohd Rizwan and Satish. While Asgar Ali hailed from Bihar, the remaining accused belong to Delhi.
According to police the main accused Asgar Ali was previously involved in theft of suitcase lifting in GRP Secunderabad and one attempt to murder case in Delhi. The other gang members are also having criminal record in Delhi. The gang leader Asgar was also convicted in the theft case.
They came to Hyderabad with an aim to extort money and also to conduct dacoities. On October 08, they reached Nampally Railway Station by Dakshin Express train. They were taking shelter in Nampally Railway Station during the night and during the day they were watching the houses of rich people roaming in Panjagutta and Banjara Hills area.
On Monday, they all went to BK Guda Park in SR Nagar and were discussing to implement their plan of dacoity in Panjagutta and Banjara Hills areas. However, on a tip off, the West Zone Task Force team arrested all the five accused and seized weapons from their possession.
