Govt to spend Rs 1,000 Cr for city development: CM
Hyderabad, Oct 15 (INN): Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday announced that the second phase of 100-days programme for the beautification of Hyderabad City will be commenced from the end of October.
Speaking after inaugurating the two-day exhibition of Andhra Pradesh Real Estate Developers Association (APREDA) here at the Hitex premises, The Chief Minister said that developmental works worth Rs 1,000 crore would be taken up in the second phase of 100-days programme.
He said that the development and beautification of roads and parks, electrification, traffic facilities and other works taken up in the first phase of 100-days programme were recently completed.
The Chief Minister assured that the Government was taking utmost care for the safety of the public and protection of public and private properties and firm action will be taken on the miscreants.
He said that despite small hindrances, Hyderabad is a safe city and progressing faster than any other cities in the country. Hyderabad is known for its traditional and cultural background and a blend of modern technology, he said.
Kiran Kumar Reddy announced that the 158-kilo metre long Outer Ring Road would be completed in all aspects by 2013 and said that a major portion of the ORR would be without signals for free flow of traffic.
However, he expressed regret over occurrences of accidents on the ORR which forced to government to introduce speed breakers. He also assured that the teething problems for the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project would be solved.
The Chief Minister said that this was the right time to buy houses and sites as the rates are reasonable and affordable to middle class families. He also spoke about the "Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu" programme, which aims to provide 15 lakh jobs to the youth in the next three years.
The National Construction Academy (NAC) has been directed to provide training and jobs to at least one lakh youth every year. The progress of the real estate and construction sector is important for fulfilling the Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu programme.
National Real Estate Developers Council vice-president Sunil Dayal, APREDA president Prem Kumar and others participated in the programme.
