Police recover Rs 57 lakh stolen cash Hyderabad, Oct 25 (INN): The City Police on Tuesday arrested four members of a notorious house theft gang and seized cash of Rs 57 lakh from their possession.
Disclosing the details at a press conference, City Police Commissioner AK Khan said that the accused Pankaj Sharma and his associates Mohd Ibrahim, Ahmed and Shaik Amer committed a major theft at his employer's office at Sangeeta Synthetics owned by Vinod Agarwal near Rikabgunj on October 11.
He procured a duplicate key and with the help his associates committed theft of Rs 58.9 lakh rupees concealed in a bag from the almirah. However, he did not touch other bags to avoid suspicion. On the same day, he left for Mumbai with a part of stolen money.
The theft remained unnoticed till October 16. Vinod Agarwal was shocked to realise that one of the cash bag was missing from the almirah. On receiving a complaint, the City Police formed six special teams to crack the mystery.
After strenuous efforts in Mumbai, Gujarat and Rajasthan and at various locations in Hyderabad city the accused were arrested and the stolen cash of Rs 57.01 lakh were recovered. AK Khan praised the work done by police teams led by inspectors V Syam Babu and K V Vijay Kumar.
