GHMC to spend Rs 37 Cr to re-carpet city roads Hyderabad, Oct 31 (INN): The Standing Committee of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on Monday accorded sanction for re-carpeting and patch work of B.T Roads at various places in all the Zones of the GHMC.
In a meeting chaired by GHMC Mayor Banda Karthika Chandra Reddy, the Standing Committee has given nod for nearly 100 works related to re-carpeting of B.T Roads at a cost of over Rs 37.24 crore. These works have to be completed by the end of December this year.
Of this, nearly Rs 12.41 Crore would be spent in East Zone, followed by Rs 7.44 Cr in Central Zone, Rs 6.29 Cr in South Zone, Rs 5.71 Cr in North Zone and Rs 5.37 Cr in the West Zone of the GHMC.
The Standing Committee has also decided to rename all the Community Halls in the GHMC limits as GHMC Community Halls. Board will be displayed at all the Community Halls for the awareness of the general public and to avoid the misuse of the Community Halls.
According to the Mayor, health camps with regard to Dengue would be conducted in coordination with the District Medical and Health Office to create awareness.
