Dr. CM Prasad gets Pravasi Divas Award NEW YORK: Dr. C.M. Prasad, an eminent psychiatrist of Washington DC was conferred with the prestigious Pravasi Divas award for his achievements in the field of medicine at national and international levels by Lt. Governor of Pondicherry Sardar Dr. Iqbal Singh at a glittering ceremony in Hotel Le Meridian of New Delhi recently.
Former Speaker of Lok Sabha and Union Minister Dr Balaram Jakhar; Uganda High Commissioner to India Nameesha Madhvani; former CBI director Joginder Singh; British NRI entrepreneur Dr Rami Ramger and many other national and international guests of honor felicitated the awardees chosen from all over the world.
The awards were presented by NRI Institute, a non-profit NGO of People of Indian Origin founded in 1989 to provide a platform for the Indians living in India and abroad. It promotes NRI investments in India and paves the way for effective interaction with government and authorities.
The Institute highlights the achievements of NRIs and PIOs in their chosen field of activities and presents awards to prominent PIOs and NRIs. It brings out a fortnightly Newsletter updating NRIs the world over about the socio economic and political happenings taking place in India.
The Institute had organized its 12th annual event ' Parvasi Divas Calling NRIs: Advantage India seminar Jan at Hotel Le Meridian, New Delhi. The NRI Institute's Parvasi Awards were presented to select Peoples of Indian Origin living in India and abroad for their outstanding achievements in their chosen field of activities and their contribution to the socio - economic development of India and the country of their adoption, according to Jagmohan Singh, founder of the Institute.

This 75 minute DVD was prepared in 2007 by American Physician Institute for Advanced Professional Studies (Beat the Boards!) and was distributed to over 3000 candidates taking Psychiatry Part II board exam in the United States.
In 2007, the Global Organization for People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) presented him with an award for his outstanding professional presentation on mental health issues facing India and his unswerving and undaunted support for the vision and mission of GOPIO.
In 2010, he received Maryland India Business Round Table award for excellence in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine Practice & Counseling Service of the year. In 2011 Dr. Prasad was honored with Maryland Governor's Citation in recognition of leadership in promoting business, trade and job growth in Maryland.
Dr. Prasad is the recipient of National leadership Award by National Republican Congressional Committee in recognition of outstanding service and commitment to Republican ideals and in particular for assistance and guidance administered to the Republican Leadership in the area of Health Care Reform.
