New Jersey hosts CNN 2010 hero Krishnan Iselin, NJ: CNN 2010 Top 10 Hero and the founder of Akshaya Trust, Madurai from Tamil Nadu Narayanan Krishnan is going to meet the New Jersey residents on March 17th. In June 2002, Krishnan saw a famished old man eating his own human waste in Madurai. It completely changed Krishnan. He gave food to the old man. As the old man ate the food given to him, he held Krishnan's hand, giving very real sensation of a powerful energy. The never felt before inner happiness and fulfillment turned Krishnan's life.
Since then Krishnan founded Akshaya Trust in Madurai and started feeding helpless and roadside destitute. He got selected in the 2010 CNN Heros project. Krishnan travels around the world especially the US and Canada and educates NRIs about Akshaya's mission and raises funds.
The event is being held on March 17, 2012 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at Sai Mandir at 465 Lincoln Highway (Rte 27) in Iselin, NJ. All are invited to join an informative fundraising event in honor of Akshaya Trust and its founder. He will relate how Akshaya Trust came into being, its mission and its current projects. Learn how he and his dedicated team of volunteers have saved many of the helpless people existing on the streets of Madurai, India. Be heartened by the progress being made in the construction of the Akshaya Home and learn how you can be part of Akshaya's mission to bring nourishment, care and compassion to the destitute people it serves.
