Girl attempts suicide demanding marriage
Visakhapatnam: The 23-year-old Mylipalle Konda, who has been protesting in front of the One Town Police Station recently demanding marriage with a man whom she loved, attempted suicide on Saturday at her residence.
Konda has been staging protest in front of the police station since Thursday demanding marriage with Vijayakumar alias Bujji, whom she loved and subsequently blamed him for cancellation of her marriage with another man.
M Konda and Vijayakumar of One Town area had an affair and fell out after the latter left for Dubai for employment.
When Konda's marriage has been finalised with some other boy, Bujji allegedly passed on the photographs regarding their affair to the new groom which led to the cancellation of the marriage.
She lodged a complaint with One Town police against Bujji and has been staging protest in front of the police station. Though police officials tried to work out a compromise by convening a meeting with their parents, it did not succeed.
On Saturday, she attempted suicide by hanging from the roof but her family members rescued her in time and shifted her to KGH for treatment. Her family members staged a protest in front of the police station.
