YSRCP, Jagan - one year perspective

Gurava Reddy, Atlanta, GA

Atlanta: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) came in to existence on March 12, 2011, exactly a year back on a promise made to people of AP by Jaganmohan Reddy, when pushed into corner by some vengeful forces.

The promise was to follow YSR principles and give YSR way of governance, which would benefit the poor and formers. There were vengeful gestures from forces that are hell bent up on destroying the image of the legend of Telugus, Dr. YSR.

But, people of AP blessed Jagan and showed him that they are behind him to blaze his trail. The blessing came in terms of record victories of Jagan and Vijayamma, support of enormous crowds in his every endeavor.

Jagan showed his bravery by standing on his principles to go against mighty forces. He could have all the peace in the world and a Chief Minister post had he played the waiting game.

No CBIs, no inquiries. But, he trusted his guts and stood by his word. Masses showed him utmost love reserved for heroes. He is popular not for defying the opposition but for the courage he demonstrated to stand by the right decisions during the critical situations, which is the hallmark of a leader. Jagan need not worry about anybody as long as he is right.

There are many ministers who are holding power but people are identifying and respecting Jagan because of his personality and not because of any power. The greatest power of any leader is his personality and Jagan has a colossal personality of never showing the back in adversity. People love a daring underdog.

YSRCP is a strong but still a fledgling one. It will take some more time to mature, but his lieutenants have been doing an admirable job of supporting the party, in very difficult times.

After all, the forces that oppose YSRCP are rather solid and well trenched. It takes a lot of self determination and guts to stand by what you believe in, especially in trying times - Hats off to Jagan and his supporters.

Jagan has showed to the forces that oppose him that he can win with his hard work, solid principles, and blessings of late Dr. YSR. There will be more difficult times, but there will be bigger show of heart by Jagan, I am sure.

Jagan, after being given the run around by the Ahmed Patels, Moilys and Sonia Gandhis of the world had perhaps decided that he was better off taking his father's legacy and blending it with his own goals and passion for people to serve the poor and extend his father's aspirations for the state on his own terms.

Jagan had found no reason to trust anyone in the Congress party, who showed extreme discourtesy, dishonesty and unfairness. With amazing maturity he had understood that truth has a way of prevailing.

In due course when people started to realize the facts about what instigated Jagan's actions and the colossal betrayal he's had to deal with, the public saw the light and recognized that their leader Dr. YSR is not dead after all and that their beloved leader YSR lives on in his son, Jaganmohan Reddy.

They are supporting him as they supported Jananetha Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy. God Bless YSRCP!
