Carnatic music programme in Siva Vishnu temple, Lanham, MD

Smt. Sravanthi Sadanala conducted a Carnatic music program on 18th March 2012, for her students at Sri Siva Vishnu Temple, Lanham, MD. The idea behind this program is to introduce all her students and give them an opportunity to show case their talent to their parents and family friends. Students are grouped as per their age.
The program is based on three Hindu festivals, Sivaratri, Sree Rama Navami and Ugadi. Accordingly she has picked up Keerthans praising Lord Ganesha, Lord Rama and Lord Siva.
Students sang Keerthans composed by Sri Adi Shanakaracharya, Sri Tyagaraja, Sri Badrachala Ramadasu, Sri.Prayaga Rangadasa, Sri Sathya Sai Baba and Sri Ganapathi Sachidanada Swami
Dr. Vijayalakshmi Nimmagadda attended as Chief Guest . Dr. Nimmagadda has also been an active member of the Hindu Community since moving from India in 1979.
She has served on the Board of Directors for the Chinmaya Mission and actively volunteers at the Sri Shiva Vishnu Temple and participates in local annual events hosted by the American Heart Association Heart Walk and Hope for Humanity.
