NATA awareness and registration drive in Texas

Houston, April 11: North American Telugu Association (NATA) Houston Chapter organized an elaborate NATA awareness & registration drive in Southern Texas cities of Austin and San Antonio.
These events are organized on April 8, 2012 and were part of the greater effort towards the NATA first convention and related Telugu events in Houston. These community town-hall type events, which were held at Sarovar restaurant, attracted huge crowd both in Austin and San Antonio.
The Houston NATA team led by RVP Manohar Medi and Media chair Dr. Samba Reddy conducted these community outreach events with the help of regional coordinators Narayana Reddy Gandra, Babu Rejendra Katragadda, Ratna, Rana Pratap, Dr. Rajender Aparasu, Durga Prasad, Raghavender Nadnur, Siva Konduri, Girish RamiReddy, Sanjeeva Reddy and Dr. Manchi Reddy.
The team distributed registration forms, convention flyers and information brochures to participants.
In San Antonio
The Telugu community of San Antonio was very jubilant with the NATA team visiting their city. Mr. Murthy, President SA Telugu Association welcomed the NATA team and introduced local Telugu community leaders and members of the association.
RVP Manohar Medi made an introductory speech and explained the purpose of this event. RCs who are also Chairs of various Convention Committees explained the ongoing efforts for the NATA convention and invited volunteers for service in various committees.
A brief cultural programme outline was explained to the audience by Prasad Kalva. Several RCs including Rajender Aparasu, Siva Konduri, Durga Prasad, Rajender Aparasu addressed the gathering mainly explaining about the NATA convention.
Media chair Dr. Samba Reddy described the community services of NATA including NATA seva days in Andhra Pradesh. He encouraged youth to take advantage of NATA as a platform for doing community services such as health camps, educational, immigration and business seminars.
In Austin
There was huge crowd of Telugu persons at the Austin NATA meeting. Austin RCs Narayana Reddy and Babu Rajendra welcomed the NATA team and introduced local TCA and community members. Manohar Medi introduced all RCs to the audience.
Prasad Kalva briefed the group about the forthcoming Texas-wide dance cultural competition. Girish RamiReddy outlined about the sports events.
Samba Reddy narrated the mission and objectives of the NATA and explained the two core objectives, viz community service and cultural advancement. He encouraged Austin Telugu youth to join NATA and initiate service projects in their hometowns.
Jithender Reddy and Dr. Janardhana Reddy addressed the participants and explained the convention preparations. Several new RCs, Appa Rao, Srinivas, Karun, Pravardhan, Venkat & Bhoopal, have been announced at the meeting.
The meeting concluded with a positive note and there was huge enthusiasm in southern Texas to register for the upcoming convention in Houston. Manohar Medi thanked VB Reddy (Sarovar restaurant), Mr. Murthy (San Antonio) and Austin team for their help hosting these events.
