NATA Detroit team raises huge funds at a star-nite

Metro Detroit, May 10: North American Telugu Association (NATA) Detroit team raised the bar to new heights and created a history by raising $171,000 at NATA Day/Star-Nite fundraising event held at St. Toma Hall on Saturday May 5 for biannual convention to be held in Houston.
Detroit NATA team surprised everyone and rewrote the 37 years of history in Detroit. Not only did people come forward with generous donations but also participated enthusiastically in the star studded night.
An event of this magnitude, in combination of star performances and fundraiser, was thoroughly enjoyed by people from all walks of life.
NATA International Vice-President Dr. Haranath Policherla gave a warm welcome to movie stars by welcoming them on to stage and felicitating them. Short clips of their achievements and roles in the movies were played simultaneously when inviting.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Policherla shared the vision and mission of NATA. He explained the key service oriented goals of NATA which include preservation, promotion and advancement of Telugu culture with utmost transparency and accountability.
NATA Regional Vice-President Mr. Bharath Reddy Madadi shared the details of cultural and social activities taken up by NATA during the last one year. He encouraged everyone to be part of this organization and asked to provide value by doing social and community services.
He also, shared his views on conventions and the impact NATA leadership has made for over 30 years to the progress of Telugu Communities in North America and India. He then introduced the NATA leader President Mr. AVN Reddy and Convener Mr. Jitender Reddy to the audience.
NATA President Mr. AVN Reddy thanked the Detroit team for organizing such a big event and explained that NATA stands for Telugu Culture and Community Service. He explained the need for the fund-raising and requested everyone's generous support.
Convener Jithender Reddy grabbed the attention of all participants with his eloquent speech in Telugu, assured a memorable convention and shared all the details of the convention.
Real Star Srihari appreciated NATA for their continuous support in promoting the Telugu culture across North America and lauded for its community service. With his inspirational speech, he motivated the Telugu people to go an extra mile to realize their bigger dreams in their life and quoted many live examples (Abdul Kalam, YSR and other great leaders).
Actor Sivaji and Sairam greeted the Detroit Telugu community and applauded NATA for doing an outstanding community service. Hero Srihari entertained the audience in his own style.
The highlight of the event was the punching dialogues of him from his hit movies and Bengali dance performance by him and his wife Shanti for the song Yenduke Ramanamma.
Dr. Policherla surprised dance performance also stood as one of the highlights. The crowd applauded and enjoyed every moment of the event. The actors appreciated the dance performance of all the local talents and appreciated all the performers.
Dr. Policherla and Mr. Madadi led the fund-raising and motivated everyone to contribute generously and poured energy into audience all night to reach the magnanimous number $171,000 while Rajashekar, Prabakar and Sunil worked the crowd.
The event was attended by over 600 NATA members, supporters, Telugu community leaders, physicians, business owners and IT Professionals from the all corners of Michigan State at St.Toma Hall and made the event a memorable one in the history of Michigan.
The Detroit NATA worked very intensively, planned meticulously and took pride in its efforts to make the event grandeur.
Mr. Bharath Reddy thanked NATA guests who came all the way from Houston and the movie stars for taking their valuable time to attend the event.
He specially thanked the efforts put in by Regional coordinators Rajashekar Reddy Aila, Sunil Reddy Marri and Prabakar Reddy Eragam for helping make the event so successful.
He said that it wouldn't have been possible without the help from Srinivas Raju, Venkat Aekka, Jogeswar Rao, Venkat Devura, Shankar Reddy, Sridhar Patel, Rajesh Reddy, Jiten, Rani Alluri, Sridevi,Niroopama and many more.
All local and National Telugu organizations participated and supported the event. Detroit NATA team was well encouraged, supported and applauded by all the audience for hosting a fun filled event for all generations.
Delicious food was catered by Mirchi Indian Cuisine. The event was broadcasted live on NATA channel which was launched three months ago.
