High Court Quashes MLA Roja's Suspension YSRCP Nagari MLA Roja gets solace at High Court. In a major relief to firebrand leader the High Court of Andhra Pradesh has issued interim orders quashing her suspension from the AP Legislative Assembly for one year.
The suspension announced by Speaker was called off by the HC and interim orders were issued to the government to lift off the ban on the MLA until further notice. Court also said that after four weeks it will hear the arguments. As per court order the YSRCP MLA would continue to attend the Assembly.
MLA Roja speaking to media said this was a victory of democracy and also the victory of the voters of Nagari, who have voted in favour of her to represent them. She said she would attend the Assembly on Thursday. She thanked the High Court for protecting her rights and allowing her to attend the Assembly session.
It may be recalled that Roja was suspended on the charges of using inappropriate language against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu during an Assembly sessions. As soon as the judgement came, TDP leader Yanamala had a separate meeting with the Speaker and also the CM and it was decided that the government will not take the backstep regarding the suspension on the firebrand MLA.
