Eatala denies pushing Telangana into debt crisis Hyderabad, March 30 (INN): Finance Minister Eatala Rajender on Wednesday dismissed allegations of TRS Government pushing the Telangana State into financial crisis.
Replying to the discussion on Appropriation Bill 2016-17 in State Legislative Council, Eatala said the loans and borrowings of State Government were not exorbitant and under permissible limits. He said that the State Government would spend 80-90 per cent of Plan expenditure. He said the spending never crossed 90% in any State across the country. He said that the growth rate of Telangana, which was 2.4% during 2012-13, has increased to 6.4% in 2013-14, 8.8% in 2014-15 and it crossed 11.7% in 2015-16.
Eatala said instead of suffering from inferiority complex, Telangana State should plan and grow in an optimistic manner. He said several countries including China and Singapore were keen on investing in Telangana. Describing TRS Government as people's government, he said that the ruling party was closely attached to the people during statehood and it was completely aware of their problems.
