Salary Hike: AP Legislator's Unhappy Following the footsteps of Telangana government AP Govt also increased salaries for its MLA'S. The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly has enhanced the salaries, related benefits and pension for its members and a bill to amend the Payment of Salaries and Pension has been passed in the House.
The bill' is proposed to enhance the salary from current Rs. 95,000 to Rs. 1,25,000. Apart from that the accommodation allowance has been hiked from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 50,000 and pension has been increased from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 50,000.
But MLA'S of AP were not happy with their hike and demanding more.Not happy with the increase in their basic salary, MLAs and MLCs in Andhra Pradesh state demand more to be at par with their counterparts in Telangana. They argue that it is difficult to maintain an office and followers with the salary hike announced by the AP government.
Meanwhile, in neighbouring Telangana the MLAs and MLCs get an enhanced salary of Rs 20,000 plus allowances of Rs 2.30 lakh. Several TDP MLAs too have expressed dissatisfaction of their government's announcement.
