SCR national awards from Railway Minister Hyderabad, April 17 (INN): The Performance Efficiency of South Central Railway in various spheres of operations during the year 2015-16 met recognition at the national level on Indian Railways, when Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu presented All India Performance Efficiency Shields in a record six disciplines.
The awards were received by SCR General Manager Ravindra Gupta on the occasion of 61st Railway Week National Awards function held on Saturday at Convention Centre, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. The General Manager was accompanied by respective Principal Heads of Departments while receiving the awards. The glittering function was also attended by Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha as Guest of Honour.
The Six Efficiency Shields awarded for SCR were for Comprehensive Healthcare, Stores, Commercial, Civil Engineering, Safety and Environment Management. Apart from this, the Nandyal Running Room, Guntur Division was adjudged as Second Best on Indian Railways.
In his address on the occasion, Suresh Prabhu said that the workforce of Indian Railways are the assets of the Organization and rewarding the best performers on the occasion of the 61st Railway Week Celebrations on Indian Railways is to motivate each one of the Railway employee to perform better. He offered his wishes to the thirteen lakh Railway employees and expressed confidence that Indian Railways is in sight of a glorious period ahead.
In the Individual Awards Category, four of SCR's Officers and Staff ' P. Chaitanya, Senior Divisional Operations Manager, Secunderabad Division; M. Ramesh Kumar, Senior Divisional Engineer, Guntakal Division; D. Jayakar, Sr. Section Engineer, Signal, Secunderabad Division and S. Tarakeswara Rao, Sr. Technician, Electric Loco Shed, Lallaguda received the Individual 'Outstanding Service Award' at All India Level. In addition, K Hari Kishore, Secretary to Chief Commercial Manager, SCR was awarded (Joint Winner) of English Essay Competition in Gazetted Category and Feroze Fathima, Office Superintendent, IRISET, Secunderabad got the award in Non-Gazetted Category.
