YSRCP MLAs hunger strike enters 4th day Hyderabad, April 17 (INN): The hunger strike undertaken by YSRCP MLA Amarnath Reddy seeking new railway status for Visakhapatnam entered fourth day on Sunday.
Several senior leaders including MLA K. Roja visted the hunger strike camp to express her solidarity with Amarnath Reddy. Addressing the gathering, Roja alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has compromised with the Centre after he was "trapped" in Cash for Vote scam. She said Naidu fears action by the Central Government in the scam and therefore, he stopped pressuring it on issues concerning the State. She said as against the request for Rs. 10,000 crore funds, the Centre has so far approved only Rs. 700 crore for the State.
Roja alleged that the Centre has failed to honour the promises that were made with residuary state of Andhra Pradesh in the AP Reorganisation Act. She demanded that the Centre immediately convert Visakhapatnam into a new railway zone.
