Shabbir Ali to make PPT presentation
Hyderabad, April 18 (INN): Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir will give a special power-point presentation on the subject of Muslim Reservation in India, especially Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
According to Shabbir Ali, the PPT presentation has been planned to mark the second anniversary of promise made by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of giving 12% reservation to Muslims in jobs and education. "Although KCR had promised to fulfil the promise within four months after coming to power, he did nothing concrete in this regard. The TRS Government has been trying hard to divert the attention of Muslim community from the promise of 12% Muslim reservation. Therefore, the Congress party has decided to keep the people informed about every aspect of Muslim reservation," he said in a statement on Monday.
Shabbir Ali informed that an exclusive website on Muslim reservation would be launched on Tuesday. The website will be launched by TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy. This will be followed by a special PPT presentation on Muslim Reservation. The presentation will give an overview on the history and status of Muslim Reservation at the national level as well as the success of 4% Muslim reservation introduced by the Congress regime in 2004. "Muslim reservation given by Congress party has so far benefitted over 10 lakh poor Muslim families. However, this was not achieved with ease. In my presentation, I will explain the difficulties which we faced in giving reservation while presenting all the legal aspects involved in the process," he said.
The Congress leader also informed that Leader of Opposition K. Jana Reddy will release "Success Stories on 4% Muslim Reservation," a video compilation of case studies from across the State who benefitted from the reservation policy. The event will be held at Indira Bhavan (inside Gandhi Bhavan premises) at 11 AM on Tuesday.
