TRS defends inspection of private colleges Hyderabad, April 19 (INN): The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Tuesday strongly defended the State Government's decision to conduct inspection of standards in private colleges through policemen.
Speaking to media persons here, TRS MLC Karena Prabhakar said that the government has decided to conduct inspections to prevent irregularities in private colleges. He said previous governments had sanctioned hundreds of colleges without setting any standard norms. Consequently, the quality of engineering studies was badly hit in Telangana State.
Prabhakar accused Congress leaders of encouraging erring college managements and asked whether they support the people of Telangana or irregularities. He said several colleges lack basic facilities and have inadequate faculty.
