KCR asks officials to expedite setting up of hospitals Hyderabad, April 22 (INN): Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has directed the officials to expedite the process of setting up of new hospitals across the Telangana State. They include three hospitals in Hyderabad and one each in Karimnagar and Khammam.
Addressing a review meeting on health sector at his camp office on Friday, the Chief Minister directed the officials to finalise the designs of new hospitals and initiate the tender process. He said the construction of all hospitals should be completed within two years.
The Chief Minister said each of these hospitals would have 750 bed capacity. While 500 beds would be for multi-specialty treatment, 250 will be for treatment of women and children. He said the State Government proposes to increase the bed capacity by 4,250 beds during the next two years.
Meanwhile, the Rabo Bank of Netherlands has expressed interest to invest in new hospitals in Telangana. The bank had set up similar hospitals in foreign countries including Sri Lanka.
