Congress MLA Ajay Kumar might join TRS Hyderabad, April 24 (INN): The Telangana Congress is all set to suffer another jolt. Its MLA from Khammam district, Puvvada Ajay Kumar, is likely to join the ruling TRS on April 27.
According ot sources, Ajay Kumar was pursued to join the TRS by Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao, who is contested the Palair by-elections as TRS candidate. The minister on Sunday met Ajay Kumar and finalised his entry into the ruling party. Meanwhile, Ajay Kumar held a meeting with supporters and other important leaders in Khammam district to discuss the issue.
Ajay Kumar, according to sources, is likely to meet Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to announcing his joining. Else, he might directly join the TRS during party's Plenary being held in Khammam on April 27.
Meanwhile, TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Leader of Opposition K. Jana Reddy intensified efforts to prevent Ajay Kumar from leaving the Congress party. They appealed to him to re-consider his decision to join the TRS.
