Six Time MLA Chennamaneni Is No More Veteran freedom fighter and former Sircilla MLA Chennamaneni Rajeshwara Rao is no more. The popular political leader and freedom fighter who fought against Nizam rule in Telangana taking arms passed away in the wee hours of Monday at a private hospital in Hyderabad.He was 93 and was unwell for quite some time.
Chennamanei was hailed as the greatest son of Karimnagar. He started his political career as a communist and was elected as a CPI legislator from Sircilla assembly constituency in Karimnagar in 1967, 1978, 1985 and 1994 assembly elections. He entered the Assembly for the first time in 1957 and won five times from Sircilla and once from Metpalli. After his stint with CPI he joined TDP in 1994. He represented TDP from Sircilla seat till 2004 before he took retirement from active politics.
One of his brother Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao,is prominent BJP leader and is now Governor of Maharashtra. His son Ch.Ramesh is MLA from Vemulawada. Condolences poured in from various parties. CMs of both telugu states KCR, Chandra Babu praised Chennamaneni for his contribution.
