Telangana PAC directs CS to hasten auditing process Hyderabad, May 9 (INN): Public Accounts Committee of Telangana State Legislative Assembly on Monday directed Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma to hasten up the process of auditing in various departments of State Government.
Speaking to media persons, PAC Chairman Dr. J. Geetha Reddy, who chaired the meeting, said that the Chief Secretary has been asked to prepare a report on pendency of audit in various departments. He has been asked to review the issue with HoDs on monthly basis and appoint Nodal Officers, if required, to ensure zero pendency rate of auditing. She said that the PAC would review the factors responsible for delay in conducting the auditing process. She said that the PAC itself would meet two-three times in a month to discuss various issues.
The next meeting of PAC would be held on May 20.
When asked, Geetha Reddy said that the local bodies do not fall in the purview of PAC and the Speaker could take a decision on it.
